My summer holiday diary part 3 - Awesome August

I had a great time during August.  As well as going on days out it was my BIRTHDAY!  I had a fab time.
Our first trip was to LolliBop.  Singing was to be heard in all directions as well as activities to be done.  Stunning shows were everywhere with a huge amount of play equipment.  I met a few people from Horrible Histories, they were really funny.  I enjoyed seeing Sam and Mark doing their Copycats show and meeting them too.  I really liked Titan the Robot’s show.  We also saw Mister Maker and Andy Day (he was really funny and got Dad to go up on stage and do a silly dinosaur dance!)

In Birmingham, we went to a Sea Life Centre.  Swimming in tanks, sea creatures surrounded us.  Gently, fish swam through the clear, sparkling water.  Meanwhile, some darted making small ripples.  I caught sight of lots of different coloured fish swimming around me.  As well as fish there were crabs, sea-horses, hammer-head sharks, penguins, eels and turtles.

Looking around Thinktank museum there were lots of fun things to see as well as a vast selection of activities.  In the outdoor area you can learn and play.  I also enjoyed watching machinery including one that made the hair clips I wear for ballet.

At Carsington Water, big, grey rocks sloped down to the water’s edge.  Calmly ducks and geese floated in the water.  We walked along the stony path that led us to the Visitor Centre.  There was an area with a projected game on the floor.  Me and my brother had a go and found it really fun because of all the jumping we had to do.

On my birthday we went to Alton Towers with Nannie and Grandad.  My mum and I spent about 1 hour queuing up for a 30 second ride but it was still really fun.  Walking up and down paths we saw lots of fun rides.  There was a sea life centre with lots of different coloured fish with creatures that live on the sea bed too.  We also went on a water ride and got soaked!

At Drayton Manor we went to the 4D cinema that showed a fish film, it was really interesting.  There were awesome rides, one of our favourites was the rapids which we went on twice, but the second time a traffic jam formed and we all laughed!  At the zoo there we saw baby meerkats, they looked really soft.

At Mottisfont, interesting wood-made climbing frames sat in a fenced area.  I really enjoyed the trails and taking photos of flowers.  I also liked the exhibition in the old house.

I had a fantastic summer holiday with lots of adventures!

My summer holiday diary part 2 - Dartmoor

Last weekend we went to Dartmoor with Grandma and Pops and my Uncle and stayed in Ash Tree Cottage.  Mum, Dad and my little brother went home but I got to stay for the whole week and did loads of fun activities!

We went to Lydford Gorge and saw lots of waterfalls.  The biggest waterfall was called The White Lady.  There was also a part called The Devils Cauldron where the water has carved away the rock to make it look like a cauldron!  There were lots of slippery rocks and narrow paths so you had to be careful but it was really fun.  I also went to the cafĂ© there and had a delicious jacket potato!

Ash Tree Cottage was on a farm.  There were sheep which I got to feed a few times and also a dog called Bramble who I made friends with and we played ball most days!  There were lots of wildflowers in the fields.

We went to The House of Marbles which had a giant marble run on the wall where you press a button and the marbles go round.  We saw some glass being made.  There was also a big shop selling all kinds of glass items and marbles – we bought lots!

We went to see someone who looks after birds of prey.  We saw buzzards, hawks and owls as well as rabbits and chickens.  I held a baby owl and fed some of the birds too.

At Otters & Butterflies there were all sorts of unusual butterflies that you don't usually see in Britain.  As well as seeing the butterflies flying around you could see them hatching out of their cocoons, which was really interesting.  The otters were really playful and funny in their enclosure.

I had a great time in Dartmoor visiting lots of places different to the ones I visit at home.

My summer holiday diary part 1 - Exbury Gardens

On Saturday 26th July 2014 mum, dad, my little brother and I went to Exbury Gardens.  It’s a big area with nature trails and trains!

We went down river walks, woods and more.  Circling us beautiful coloured flowers sat.

Lots of ponds were dotted around the area.  Some were still, some had ripples in them, some even had water- falls and stepping stones.  Calmly, fish swam through the sparkling water.
Whilst we wondered through the area we spotted a train track.  Later on we came to the station and went on the first train ride.

At the end of our fantastic day we went to a small cafĂ© and had a drink and a lolly.  I had a fantastic time at Exbury Gardens!
